PROPERTY STYLING + HOME STAGING

After a thorough walk-through, we provide a detailed proposal with our recs to prepare your property for market. We also offer Styling Packages where we come into your space to style and help you declutter. Even the most minor upgrades and styling can make a big impact to a future Buyer. Fees start at $500.

REAL ESTATE & FLIPPING

Are you an investor? We provide consultation services for quick flips or investment properties. Everything from major remodel changes to floor plans, material and lighting selections and everything in between. Fees start at $1,500.

All design services are available VIRTUALLY! We can work with you to generate floor plans, mood boards and specific selections unique to your home.

FAQ

First off, we’re so happy you’re considering working with MWI! We believe full transparency and clear communication are key to a successful project!

I’ve never worked with a Designer before, what’s the process? We start with a call and in-person consultation to discuss exactly what you are looking for and see if we’re a good fit. After we get contracts signed and retainer collected, we will gather all necessary information to start work on your design. Over a series of questionnaires, emails and meetings, we turn your Pinterest, Houzz, Instagram, magazine pages (you name it!) into a presentation with basic floor plans, inspiration images, color palettes and selections. We then present detailed furniture plans + elevations, fabrics and materials to touch and see in your space, and curated selections of furniture and lighting we’ve thoughtfully specified for your home. We provide tearsheets for each selection with exact finishes, pricing and multiple photos. Occasionally, we will provide artistic renderings with our selections so that you can easily visualize the space before making any final decisions. We take your budget seriously and strive to balance special, splurge-worthy pieces with more cost-effective selections.

What’s the first step to get started? After an initial discovery call to learn more about your project and our services, we schedule a 1 hour, in-person consultation. This is where we see your space, hear about all your hopes, dreams and trouble areas and talk thru next steps. We also like to get a firm grasp on budget and timeline. From there you’ll receive a detailed proposal with estimated Design Fees broken down by space and scope.

Do you offer free consultations? No, but we credit the consultation fee towards your first design fee invoice. This consultation fee is $350 and because we credit it back, you only pay this should we decide not to work together.

How do I prepare to work with a Designer? Start gathering information! We require a Pinterest board created by our Clients to kick off the project. We know what we like, but this is about you! Write down things you don’t love about your current home, save photos of spaces and trends you love (and take note of what you’re not vibing with!), think about colors, fabrics, lighting and materials - do you have strong feelings here? We hold your hand throughout the entire process, but it’s helpful if you get a head start!

How do you price your services? We bill in 5 minute increments for all design, procurement and project management services. The Lead Designer bills at $150/hour, Design Assistant is $75/hour and Interns are $40/hour. Travel time is half for each team member. After your consultation, you’ll receive a Design Fee Proposal with an estimation of time we think your project will take.

Do you have a minimum project size? We are a small firm and can only take on a handful of projects per year. Because of that we have a minimum spend of $100,000 between hours and products purchased. If you’re not sure you’ll meet that minimum, no worries, we’d love to hear from you anyway; we occasionally can make a smaller project work depending on our project load!

How long is the design process? This varies per project, but great design takes time! Typically our projects take 6 months to 2 years from concept to installation. We like to have at least 1 month to gather information; inspiration, measurements, etc. Then another 2-4 months to generate designs and compile selections. If this is a New Build or Remodel, we start gathering bids from Contractors / Builders during this time. During our Discovery Call and Consultation, we can give you an estimated timeline for your unique project, but really it depends on the size of your project and the timeliness of your decision-making.

What if I don’t know or have a budget? No budget?! Wow - you’re THE dream Client! But EVERYONE has a budget, even our big spender Client’s have a number they want to stick to. But we can help! At the start of every project, we can either generate a budget for you or break down your budget to come up with a scope of work you’re comfortable with. Sometimes that means moving some spaces to Phase 2… or Phase 10. Either way, we’re here to make this process fun and less stressful, so part of that is telling you when we need to scale back OR when we’ve got extra money to do something super unique!

What happens at the end of the project? Install Day! This is where everyone’s hard work finally comes to light. Ideally, you will spend the day with your feet up at an off-site location while we manage the delivery and installation of all of your items into your home. We will style your shelves, hang art, bring flowers and accessories, and have your home photo-ready when you walk in your front door. We will do a final walk-through together and prepare a list of any remaining items that need attention, and we will discuss the care and maintenance of your new finishes and furnishings. While we expect you will be thrilled with your new space, if anything is not what you had expected, we will fix it to the best of our ability.

We will discuss our practices in more detail during our initial call, consultation and on-boarding process.
